The first choice in the GM Selection dialog is to select the type of records to be selected (Components, Bidirectional, or Custom), which are available as options under the "Match" drop-down button. For each selection, different options are made available under the "Target Type" drop-down button(s). This results in a large number of options available to the user as detailed below.
If the user selects "Components" or "Bidirectional", then only one Target Spectrum, Fitting Criteria and Target Type may be defined. However, if the "Custom" option is selected, then the user may define up to three Target Spectra, Fitting Criteria and Target Types and apply a weight factor for each.
Applying the weight factors allows the user to give different weights to each of the three criteria based on their relative importance.
The table and chart below show the various possible selections of the "Target Type" based on the user's selection of th "Match" option.
